Godrevy STEAM (Lego programming) Day

Challenge. Problem Solving. Collaboration. Team work. Innovating. Designing. Building. Inventing. Debugging. Today’s STEAM day had it all! Year 4 – Reflecting on Remembrance Day

In Reading skills today, Year 4 created their own poppy for Remembrance Day and discussed why we have this special day. We used our retrieval and summarising skills to understand and follow a set of instructions.

Year 6 Science Learning – Autumn 2020

Year 6 have really enjoyed learning about Classification of Living Things. We have learned about Carl Linnaeus who invented the classification system, how living things can be grouped, how to create classification keys and the different types of leaves in our school grounds. Such a great first science topic!

Year 6 Artwork Autumn 2020

So impressed with the Year 6 children’s artwork this term – we have been using multimedia techniques to create our own giant waves based on a Hokusai painting. Also, the children have been constructing, using papier mache and painting their volcanoes, ready for next week’s explosions!

Such a happy few days in Year 6 – making the most of our time before the children move onto secondary school! One of their activities was to learn about beats, chords and rhythms. The classes had a chance to create a piece of music together. So enjoyable! Here are some pics…

Bearah’s Aquarium Day

We had a great aquarium day. We made tissue paper fish, watched the sharks being fed online at Plymouth Aquarium with our pillows and blankets, made ocean creature posters, and had fun in our ocean-themed photo booth.
